Allow me to pull out some news nuggets regarding Wrestlemania 32 from the Wrestling Observer so the IWC, as well as WWE’s casual fans and the podcasters they listen to, can face three indisputable facts from arguably the most credible source in the industry.
1.The Rock WILL NOT be wrestling at Wrestlemania 32
“(WWE) wants people to think that this is going to be a really big show, so, whatever idea that they have for (The Rock) is a pretty big idea. If it’s a small idea, it’s going to be a letdown. I thought, because of how big they made it, that he was going to wrestle, but I found out that he’s not. It’s not impossible that he’s going to wrestle, but there’s an insurance issue on it, and it hasn’t been resolved, and, right now, it doesn’t look like he’s going to wrestle.”- Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio- January 14th, 2016
Before The Rock announced that he would appear at WWE’s WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, it was reported that he likely would not be wrestling on the event due to an issue with an insurance company that didn’t want to cover him for a movie if he was going to be wrestling. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the insurance issue is still there and Rock will not be wrestling at the biggest show of the year.
2.The Undertaker is NOT going to wrestle Sting, John Cena or the Rock
Sting wrestled a few matches with WWE until suffering a neck injury at the 2015 Night of Champions after taking a power bomb into the turnbuckles in a match with then-World Champion Seth Rollins. He noted when talking with Ric Flair that he requires neck surgery, although has not gotten surgery yet.
Before John Cena went down with an injury, he was scheduled to face The Undertaker in “The Battle of Legends” but that’s not happening unless Cena is able to return ahead of schedule. No one expected Cena to get injured so there were no back-up plans for Taker.
3.WWE.com propoganda saying some legendary opponent will face Undertaker is untrue.
“It’s at the start of WrestleMania season each year that the WWE Universe begins to buzz with speculation over who will face The Undertaker on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Despite Brock Lesnar conquering The Deadman’s Streak in 2014, interest in The Undertaker’s WrestleMania opponent remains top of mind, and there would be no bigger blockbuster foe than The Great One.”
“The Attitude Era battles between The Rock and The Undertaker are forever etched in sports-entertainment lore. Should The Most Electrifying Man in Entertainment compete in the ring this April, a reprisal of his rivalry with WWE’s Phenom would surely rank high among WWE fans’ dream matches in 2016.”-WWE.com
By gathering these facts, I hope everyone will see these indisputable facts and realize that some of the fantasy booking people are doing is for not. This gives me hope that Wrestlemania 32 will break the mold by making some new WWE superstars that will show fans are continuing to rebuild. -KOP
